This Year’s Favorite Halloween Candle

How to Make a Coffin Candle

For this candle, I used 20% high-melt paraffin candle wax and 80% paraffin candle wax. The high-melt paraffin candle wax is extremely hard and creates a sturdy shell for the candle. This is the formula I use for hurricane candles too. The shell or coffin for this candle is not scented.

The inside of the coffin candle is soy wax. This allows the candle to burn using the paraffin as a wax container. I used a smaller wick to control the heat of the wax pool. Wooden wicks are also fun to include.

The coffin mold is from AliExpress and is intended for resin. Many molds for resin can be used for candles.

I attached 3 wicks, each centered in the compartments, using candle wax. Alternatively, the wick can be attached by drilling a hole through the paraffin and attaching it from the bottom. The wax can be colored to match your decor or for a variety.

Make sure you trim the wick to at least 1/4″ long. I am going to decorate my candles with dried flowers and crystals.
